The following pictures show contrast of a 275/40/17 tire mounted on a 17x9 (35mm offset) the right (passenger) side of the car with an OEM-sized (245/40/18) tire on the left (driver's) side. The wider tire is a Toyo Proxes RA-1, and the wider wheel is a 5Zigen FN01R-C. I saw no clearance problems with the lower spring perch, the wheel-well liner, or the brake calipers. The only possibility I see for any clearance issues would be under road-course lateral loads, which I have not yet been able to test. For normal street driving, including full-lock circles, I observed no rubbing or interference from the tire or wheel. |
