Remove Underhood Light
Once you open the plastic cage surrounding the lightbulb, you can use some pliers
to pinch the tabs that hold it in place.

Detach Underhood Wiring From Hood
You'll need to detach the wiring for the hood light in order to remove the hood.
You can remove the metal retaining clips for the underhood insulation by pinching the
tabs with pliers - you only need to remove enough clips to get the wiring out.

Remove Bolts from Hood Hinges
There are two 12mm bolts on each of the hood hinges - remove them. When you remove the last bolt,
let the hood slide down toward the windshield. You can place some towels or shop rags under the
rear corners of the hood to keep it from getting scratched.

Support Hood
Since the next step is to remove the hood struts (which are now supporting the hood),
you'll need to support the front of the hood to keep it from crashing down. I found
that a piece of 2.5" ABS drainpipe worked quite well.

Disconnect Hood Struts
There is a small strut on each side of the hood that allows the hood to stay
in the "up" position without a support rod. They are attached to the sides of the hood
with threaded ball-joints that have a 10mm hex neck. Using a thin 10mm wrench,
disconnect the struts.

Lay Hood Flat and Remove
At this point, the hood is completely free of the chassis. Remove your hood
support and allow the hood to lay flat. Have your helper lift one side of the
hood while you lift the other, and place the hood in a location where it will
not get bumped, scratched, kicked, sat on, run into, or otherwise damaged.
I find laying it on the guest bed in our guest bedroom works well until
the wife notices it's covering up her pretty comforter and shams :-)
